Semra Ecer

Semra Ecer has an original voice in contemporary Turkish art. She brings an old-world sensuality to the modern world. In her art, it is inevitable to enjoy the beauty of the precious stones and diamonds along with the rustic simplicity of the hand forged precious metals. She also has classic, expressive, and highly stylized sculptures, jewels and objects.

Semra Ecer was born in Ankara in 1959. She graduated from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in 1983, and studied at the workshop of Ozdemir Altan during her education there. She completed her Master's degree in Painting at her alma mater.

She started her own business during her undergraduate years by setting up a studio to make stained glass designs. Later came objects and sculptures, all adding new dimensions to her artistic expression. Currently, Semra Ecer owns a design showroom in Istanbul and NYC.
